A 6 or 7 a.m. flight really means leaving your hotel between 3 and 4 a.m. Reception is quiet at that hour and finding a vehicle outside is not something to rely on; a private transfer booked in advance removes the problem entirely. Plan it in this order:
- Take the time your airline recommends being at the airport (typically 3 hours for international flights, 2 hours for domestic).
- Add the night-time driving time from your hotel to the airport. It is usually short, but allow 10 to 15 minutes for loading luggage and checking out.
- Enter the resulting time as your pickup time. Your driver is outside the hotel before that time and reception lets you know.
