Journey times and route
Istanbul Airport is closer to this district than to the old city or the Asian side. Estimated door-to-door times in a private vehicle:
- Levent and Maslak: 35 to 50 minutes; the airport connector road leads straight into the business district.
- Şişli and Mecidiyeköy: 40 to 55 minutes.
- Nişantaşı and Teşvikiye: 45 to 60 minutes; the avenues are busy during the day.
- Beşiktaş, Ortaköy and the Bosphorus-side hotels: 45 to 65 minutes.
On weekdays between 08:00 and 10:00 and between 17:30 and 20:00, expect the upper figure. Office drop-off: going straight to a meeting
If you are heading directly from the airport to a meeting, a few details make the journey smoother:
- Add the building address and floor to your booking. Most towers in Levent and Maslak have separate visitor entrances and vehicle set-down points; your driver comes to the right one.
- Your luggage can stay in the car. If you are moving on to a hotel after the meeting, add that leg as an extra stop in your booking; the driver waits for the duration of the meeting and your bags stay safely in the vehicle. Hotels and shopping
Most hotels in Nişantaşı and Beşiktaş are on main avenues and the car comes right to the door; boutique hotels in Teşvikiye and Akaretler may sit on one-way streets, and your driver plans the approach from the hotel address. Travellers coming to shop can enter a shopping centre directly as the destination and add the onward ride to the hotel, bags and all, as an extra stop.
