How Airport Transfer Prices Are Set: Every Item in the Price and Why There Are No Surprises

The most common question about transfer pricing is simple: where does this number come from, and will it change on the way? At Solevra Travel the answer is clear. The price appears on the booking screen before you travel, VAT included and broken down line by line, and it does not change afterwards. This guide walks through every item in that price, what gets added in which situation, and why you will not face a surprise at the end of the ride.

The items that make up the price

1. Route

The foundation of the price is your pickup and drop off point. Journeys between an airport and a district use a predefined list price; Istanbul Airport to Taksim or Sabiha Gökçen to Kadıköy fall into this group. Intercity journeys use a province based price or the real road distance. Whichever method applies, you see a single total on screen.

2. Vehicle class

Each class is priced separately, with passenger and luggage capacity shown next to it: Eco Sedan (3 passengers, 3 suitcases), Eco Van (7 passengers, 6 suitcases), VIP Van (6 passengers, 6 suitcases), Business Sedan (3 passengers, 2 suitcases), Ultra VIP (4 passengers, 4 suitcases), Minibus (14 passengers, 12 suitcases) and Midibus (27 passengers, 25 suitcases). Choosing the right class matters for both comfort and budget. Two people with two suitcases are fine in an Eco Sedan; a family of six needs a VIP Van or Eco Van. For groups, our minibus guide helps you choose.

3. Passengers and luggage

Passenger and luggage counts affect the price indirectly, through the vehicle class. When you enter real numbers on the form, only the classes you fit into are listed. This is how we make sure your luggage never fails to fit at the airport.

4. Extras

A baby seat, booster seat or a similar request is noted at booking and, where applicable, shown as a separate line. How airport meet and greet works, with a name sign and luggage help, is explained in our meet and greet guide.

5. Additional stops

If you need to stop somewhere on the way, for example to drop a friend off before heading to your hotel, you add the stop to the booking. The stop is included in the distance and the price, and the total updates on screen. Stops written only in the notes are not priced, which makes planning harder, so always add them to the form.

6. Return journey

When you plan both directions in one booking, both legs are priced together and shown in the total. Each leg can have its own chauffeur, and the return pickup time is set according to your flight. When to leave for the airport is covered in our return transfer guide.

7. VAT

The total you see on screen includes VAT, and VAT appears as its own line in the breakdown. Your receipt arrives by email, which matters for corporate accounting.

What does not affect the price

  • Flight delays: Your flight is tracked by its number. Within reasonable limits there is no charge for the chauffeur's waiting time.
  • Time of day: Transfers run at night and in the early morning. The price on screen is already calculated for the time you chose; no night surcharge is added later.
  • Traffic: A longer journey does not change the price. There is no meter; the total is known before you leave.
  • Currency: You can choose EUR, USD or TRY and pay in that currency.

Why a fixed price

A fixed price exists so that you can plan. There is no negotiating after landing, no watching a meter on the road and no settling up at the door. You pay with 3D Secure when booking, the confirmation email and booking number arrive immediately, and you can see the amount any time on the find your booking page. This is why a private transfer is the most predictable way from the airport into the city; we explain the reasoning in why private transfer.

How to see your price

On the booking form on the home page, enter your pickup, drop off, date and passenger count. The suitable vehicle classes appear with their prices, and selecting one shows the breakdown. You can check prices without making a booking.

Does the price change during the journey?

No. The VAT inclusive total shown on the booking screen is final. Traffic, flight delays and time of day do not add anything.

How does an additional stop affect the price?

When you add a stop to the form, it is included in the distance and the price, and the total updates on screen. A stop written only in the notes is not priced, so always add it to the form.

Is there a night surcharge?

The price on screen is calculated for the date and time you choose. Nothing is added afterwards for night or early morning transfers.

Which currencies can I pay in?

EUR, USD or TRY. You pay in the currency you choose, with 3D Secure, and the receipt arrives by email.

You do not need to book to see every item in your price. Enter your route and get your price.
